Caring for new auto glass
What to do — and avoid — in the first days after a windshield replacement.
The adhesive holding your windshield keeps curing after you drive away. A little care in the first couple of days helps it bond well.
- Follow the drive-away time your technician gives you
- Skip high-pressure car washes for a couple of days
- Leave any retention tape on until your technician says it can come off
- Crack a window slightly on very hot days to ease pressure when doors close
- Contact us if you notice wind noise, water, or a driver-assistance warning
